Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad remains committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility through the distribution of zakat to those in need. A zakat contribution ceremony was held for members of the Police Family Association (PERKEP) under the PDRM Management Department as part of efforts to ease the burden of low-income police personnel.
The zakat contribution amounting to RM10,000 was presented by YBhg Datin Sri Selmiah binti Tuan Ibrahim, Chairperson of PERKEP, PDRM Management Department, together with Encik Sazali bin Sajidin, Head of Strategy & Asset Quality, Retail Banking Division, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad.
The ceremony was also attended by YBhg Puan Mazidah binti Isman @ Haji Abdul Rahim, Deputy Chairperson of PERKEP Management Department, as well as Cik Wan Nuraihan binti Ab Shatar, Section Head, Social Finance Department, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad.
This contribution was allocated to 100 low-income police personnel, in recognition of their service and sacrifices in supporting the community and the nation. Through this zakat distribution, it is hoped that it will help ease the financial burden of PDRM members in need, while also supporting their welfare as they carry out their daily duties.
Bank Muamalat will continue to strengthen its social role through zakat initiatives and community programmes that benefit the public, in line with the principles of ihsan and amanah that form the foundation of Islamic banking operations.
